The three of us, as members of the coop, contributed to the early development of MESS. The goal of MESS is to computerize many of the paper-based systems used by Mariposa Food Co-op. Now that Mariposa has over 700 members, it takes many hours every week to reconcile accounts on paper, so we're building a more efficient computerized system. The MESS project also includes broader goals: it will record account history and contact information, and members will be able to log in to check their accounts and schedule workshifts.
